Shiva, the God of constructive death, turns into his most violent form when doing the Tandava. The Rudra Tandava also symbolises the death of the universe. It also ensures that the suppressed rage that grows inside is released. In the literal sense most, people typically take 'destruction,' but it has a more abstract meaning. Shiva, the destroyer, demolishes the darkness within you that requires shelter, to make you deserving of heaven, and to rid you of the cycle of life and death. Ananda Tandava is a dance of bliss where Shiva's inherent essence appears as Shivam, where Satchidananda is in his purest form. This perception of pleasure is not constrained by a cause and its consequence. The mundane world germinates deep inside and is unaffected by this sense of bliss. Shiva's The Ananda Tandava signifies the purest part of his being. It is possible to divide tandava into 7 forms.

The feminine version is Lasya anga. Lasya is the dance performed by Goddess Parvati, denoting happiness, elegance and perfection. The reaction to the male energies of Tandava's celestial dance is said to be Lasya. Lasya translates directly to elegance, grace and pleasure. Goddess Parvati is thought to have invented the feminine style of dance, Lasya. The divine fanaticism of Shiva's Tandava enhanced the Lasya element of dance. It consists of delicate karanas, poses and gestures of the body. Lasya is the kind of dance said to be performed in Hindu mythology by Apsaras, the celestial emergers. Lasya is known to be classified into four types:
Srinkhala: The term means chain and this admits of tenanga such as Geyapada, Sthitapatya, Asina, Pushpagandika, Pracchedaka, Trigudhaka, Saindhavaka, Dwimudhaka, Uttamottaka and Uktapratyukta. In drutakala, this form is danced in chain form.
Lata: It's made up of Rasakas. It is composed of three kinds, namely Danda, Mandala, and Natyarasaka. They're also known as latabandha. The couples dance together at a slow tempo.
Pindi: This is a kind of Lasya, with a number of subdivisions. It is also known as Gulma in some documents. A party of dancers, most of them four, in a laya vilambita together.
Bhedyaka: In this, dancers form a group, each dancing in a drutakala role of their own. Like Srinkhalika, Bhedyaka has ten Lasyangas as well.
